Understanding Your Choices

Our one of a kind dilution library helps us provide you with the most comprehensive array of single remedies, potencies, bottle and vial sizes, in various forms (liquids, pellet sizes, tablets and mother tinctures).

On each single remedy page, you'll see three drop down menus on the right hand side (format, potency & size).  You can choose from each drop down in any order you want.  You'll note that depending on which choice you make, the choices in the other drop down menus are narrowed.  Here are some more details to help you make your selection:

We stock over 1600 remedies. Of these approximately 450 are restricted to prescription on all or some lower potencies. For instance Belladonna Mother Tincture, strychnine or a snake venom are not available without a prescription. This potency level determination has been made by experts using modern technology and data. This rationale would apply to non-monographed remedies like Carcinosinum. 

Format

Medicated Pellets are round, 85% sucrose, 15% lactose pills that have been medicated with a dilution. We offer pellets in #35 (the size of a BB), #20 (Poppy Seed) and #10 (a grain of sand) sizes.

Soft Tablet Triturates are soft, molded tablets. They dissolve almost instantly when placed in the mouth and contain only the active ingredients in a base of lactose with a small amount of acacia gum to hold them together.

Dilutions are liquids, usually dispensed via dropper directly under the tongue or in distilled water. They consist of 20% alcohol (for internal use) and 87% alcohol (for medicating pellets).

Some remedies are available in all formats, while others are not.  If you don't see a format, that means it's not available for that remedy.

Potency

The potencies available for a remedy can depend on the format you choose.  For example, if you start by choosing "tablets" as your format, the choices of potencies will narrow, because tablets are typically only available in lower potencies. 

To prepare a homeopathic liquid attenuation (dilution) the remedy must be soluble. By using tablets you can access remedies which would be insoluble in low potencies. e.g silicea, graphites, argentum met, aurum met. When you are informed that a remedy like Calc Carb or Hekla is not available in a low potency dilution or medicated pellet, seek out the corresponding tablet.

If there is a specific potency you desire, reset the drop down menus and choose your potency first.  This will narrow the choices for formats, and for size.

X potencies are remedies that are diluted on a 10 scale. The process is a series of alternate de-concentration and succussion (vigorous shaking).  That means 1 part remedy and 9 parts diluent.  The result is a 2x.  When you take 1 part of a 2x and mix it with 9 more parts diluent, the result is a 3x.  The process carries forward to make potencies from 3x to 200x.

C potencies are made the same way, except they are diluted on a 100 scale, beginning with 1 part of the remedy mixed with 99 parts diluent.

M potencies are made with 1 part remedy and 999 parts diluent.

Size

The most commonly ordered sizes are 2 Dram Amber Vials, 250 Tablets and 1 ounce liquid dilutions. 

2 Dram Amber Vial - contains about 160 pellets - more than enough doses to treat any acute condition.

250 Tablets - these are the soft tablet triturates that dissolve instantly under your tongue.

1 Ounce Liquid - 20% liquid dilutions are dispensed in an "Amber Round Bottle" with a non-reactive dropper top for easy dropping under the tongue.
